Rice farming is a Gold mine that i don’t need to start listing reasons why. If you are really serious about rice farming as you have stated above, then i can congratulate you because in few months now, if you start as soon as possible, you will be making money and even be employing people who will work for you.

Lets look at it, Rice is the most consumed food in Nigeria. Out of 7 days a week, most families eat rice for 5 days counting based on each time they consume it. Students even take rice almost everyday.

When i was in school back then, its either white rice, Jollof rice (or maybe concussion) or rice and beans. The consumption is not restricted to age or gender. What about parties, ceremonies and other public events. The food you can expect is rice again.

This is a very lucrative business.

Over the year, Nigeria rice consumption has been massively increasing. And the number one reason is because rice is one of the major types of food which almost every Nigerian takes.

Every year, Nigerians consume about 5.5 million tons of rice. But only 3.6 million tons of these 5.5 million tons are locally produced. And most of the farmers who produce rice, do it for their personal consumption.

You going into this is not a mistake at all.

Thank, i was discussing with someone today and he said i’ll Have to move to the North to get my desired results because we don’t have swampy land in the south and I would have to leave on the farm too. That’s scary 😰

Here you will see a list of rice producing states in Nigeria

Benue;
Borno;
Kaduna;
Kano.
Niger.
Taraba.
Enugu;
Cross River
Ebonyi.
Its true. South west ain’t good for rice farming.

Living in the farm is really up to you and depends on how big the farm is. And am so sure you know you will need to hire people and you can’t do it all alone.
