Mushroom Farming – How Long Before Mushroom Is Ready For Harvest?

Answered

I want to start mushroom Farming in my state Kogi.

How long does it take for mushroom to be ready for harvest after planting?  Can it be grown all round the year?  How do you preserve the harvested mushroom for onward delivery to your target market?

Do you offer training for interested farmers?

It depends on the species but generally, mushrooms do mature for harvest within days (less than a week) from sprout. Once you’re done with the culture and preparations, maturing is not a problem,

Yes, it can be grown all year round with the right kind of condition. The indoor facility is the best choice to grow mushroom all reason, all year round.

The best method is to sell it off as soon as they are harvested because mushroom tends to decay within days from harvest. It can be preserved through packaging and refrigerating.
