What Will it Take to Take Over From Streaming Giants Like Spotify?

I have been thinking of what will be need to actually become the next big thing in streaming of music.

As you already know , Apple Music, Tidal And Soundcloud also hold a large number of subscribers as well.

Definitely if the next Big Thing is to come, it will also be  platform for music download and streaming  or take a similar path but with a little ooomph to sway users to subscribe to the platform.

The Question is what is that Ooomph that can make a subscriber switch from all these Giant services to a new startup??

I think Tidal’s rise was in part because of the exclusive album drops on the service by the likes of Kanye West, Rihanna and more.

Maybe the next soon-to-be-big streaming service might as well be paying big artistes for Free Album Download or Free Song Downloads and streaming on their services.

That’ll for sure be a huge sum of money to actually get a deal like that.  Not an ideal marketing strategy for a start-up with very little resources.

What do you think? All Opinions and possible scenarios for a takeover is welcome. Thank you.

Nice thinking. I like the dreams you are building and it’s really a big one. Taking over is possible but not only in theories. Facebook is doing well while Google Plus is doing well too. Remembered yahoo was Mega before Google took over both search engine and e mail addresses.

My opinion is that, taking over requires more and more. But nothing is impossible.
